Discovery Disaster Response Team
(DDRT)
The Discovery Disaster Response Team (DDRT) is a ministry of trained volunteers committed to caring for our neighbors during times of disaster or emergency. Motivated by their love of God, DDRT serves individuals and families in Broomfield and surrounding counties who have been impacted by events such as fires, floods, evacuations, or severe weather.
Discovery Church is a Certified Red Cross Shelter and may be activated by the City and County of Broomfield to serve as an evacuation site or overnight shelter.
DDRT volunteers are trained in First Aid, CPR/AED, psychological first aid, de-escalation, personal preparedness, and American Red Cross Shelter Operations.
DDRT is a member of Broomfield VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and partners with community, government, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations to provide coordinated response, relief, and long-term recovery. When called upon, DDRT volunteers assist with shelter operations, disaster assistance centers, emotional and spiritual care, meal service, and support for first responders and survivors.
