Why We Give

The very essence of God is creativity and generosity. From creation itself to the giving of Jesus, God seems to love offering his kingdom and his justice wherever he goes. We get to follow this God by generously participating in both kingdom and justice work around us. We don’t do it to ‘earn’ brownie points but simply as a response to what we see God doing in us and around us. Generosity is simply ‘right.’ A truly giving and generous heart recognizes and acknowledges God’s ownership over everything and His personal grace to each of us individually.

Stewardship of our physical resources was something that Jesus invited us to not only take seriously, but to pursue creatively and generously. At Discovery, we not only ask this of folks who call our church home, but we also practice it as a corporate body! If you ever have questions about where we are spending money, please don’t hesitate to ask! Even the graphs and reports you can click through here to see come with nuance and will require some further conversation to understand on a deep level, but this can at least show you in broad strokes how we are starting what God is giving us as a community. Come join us in what God is doing through our community!

FAQs

  • You’ll receive an email when giving statements are ready—usually toward the end of January. You can also access your statement anytime through the Church Center app. If you run into any issues, feel free to email us at finance@dc2.me.

  • Absolutely! You can drop physical gifts in the black boxes located at the back of the auditorium, mail checks to (our check mailing address), or fill out and email this ACH authorization form to finance@dc2.me.

  • Follow this link to our Church Center giving page. You can use your Church Center login to review your giving history, change reoccurring donations, update your payment method, and view your tax statements.

  • Through the Church Center app on your phone under the Giving tab or by logging in to our Church Center Giving page. Feel free to email finance@dc2.me if you are having trouble
